About this piece
This was the first scene I made in Blender after using Maya for half a year. I made this train scene in a week as a school project. The goal was to make a stylised scene with a low polycount. I made the train model using a lot of reference images. Although looking back, I should have taken more time for the side walks and cabin.
Problems I faced
Getting the train model done within a week was quite a challenge, especially since I had never used Blender before. But this was the perfect challenge to learn the basics of Blender and get a good understanding of the workflow. The main problem I faced with the scene was how to fill the back of the "cave". I was thinking of using a gradient to black. But in the end I didn't have time to implement it and stuck with a simple solid color.
